Voluntours

Today, 20 people from a Voluntours group came to work in the garden. VOLUNTOURS is a volunteer organization that has won multiple regional and international awards in responsible and ethical tourism. They have volunteer projects in South Africa, Mauritius, Madagascar, Nepal, Peru, Malaysia and Borneo.

Many of the tasks to accomplish before my June 4th return to Santa Fe, USA, were checked off my list today. Yeepee!

Hoy, 20 personas provenientes de Voluntours vinieron a trabajar en el jardín. VOLUNTOURS es una organización de voluntariado que ha ganado múltiples premios regionales e internacionales en turismo responsable y ético. Tienen proyectos de voluntarios en Sudáfrica, Mauritania, Madagascar, Nepal, Perú, Malasia y Borneo.
Muchas de las tareas a completar antes de mi regreso a Santa Fe, E.U.A, fueron tachadas de mi lista hoy. Yupiiii!

Our young Capomo trees were moved to the new vivero (nursery) on the side of the Carpenters' bodega. The cages will protect the trees from the iguanas.

Las plántulas de capomo fueron movidas al nuevo vivero a un costado de la bodega de carpintería. Las jaulas protegerán a los árbolitos de las iguanas.





















Old tires were used to make planters.

Se usaron llantas viejas para hacer jardineras.

Many climbing vines and flowering shrubs were transplanted by some experienced gardeners.

Muchas trepadoras y arbustos de flor fueron trasplantadas por algunos jardineros experimentados.




And a mattress was built for a new compost pile, as Compostland has now reached its maximum height.

Y un nuevo 'colchón' fue construido para la nueva pila de composta, ya que Compostlan ha alcanzado su altura máxima.
