Getting ready to transplant seedlings - Preparación para el transplante

It's my birthday today and my favorite thing to do on my birthday is to hang out with a lovely bunch of men, and dig through a huge compost pile to get rich soil full of life-bugs, worms and interesting artifacts...
We sifted 15 wheelbarrows of tierra lama, compost and river sand, getting ready for transplanting tomorrow.

Hoy es mi cumpleaños, para lo cual no hay nada mejor que pasar el rato con un grupo encantador de hombres y excavar un enorme montón de composta para sacar tierra rica y llena de insectos, lombrices y otros artefactos interesantes...

Quin, a San Pancho local and someone who helped Juaquin work on the Civic Garden, started bringing us fresh horse manure from the nearby Polo Club. We'll be getting 3 wheelbarrows of manure each day! A dream come true.

Quin, un residente de San Pancho y antiguo colaborador con Juaquín del Jardín Cívico, nos comenzó a traer estiércol fresco proveniente del Club de Polo cercano. ¡Contaremos con 3 carretillas de estiércol/abono al día! un sueño hecho realidad.

n.t. estos son unos melones (Cucumis melo) de piel densa, y una deliciosa y aromática pulpa naranja impregnada con un distintivo sabor cremoso a durazno...mmmm

















Tomorrow we'll be transplanting these lettuce (Alan's starters) as well as basil.

Mañana transplantaremos estas lechugas y unas albahacas (sembradas anteriomente por Alan).
